At Kalahari Electrical we want to help keep you informed on everything electric. We are well-established Atlanta electrical contractors and are available for our your needs. Often times we go to our clients’ homes and find that their outlets are either malfunctioning or not working at all. This month we want to discuss how you can test to see if your outlet is working properly.
There are a few steps that we recommend taking when checking to see if an outlet works especially before calling out an electrician. First and foremost, make sure that all switches that could be attached to that particular outlet are turned on. The next thing that you want to make sure and check is that the circuit breaker or fuse is intact that is in connection with that outlet. Often times outlets are tripped and simply need to be flipped in the circuit breaker. Once you have completed these steps, now you can test the outlet! It is often as simple as plugging in a light and seeing if you can turn it on. If the light doesn’t turn on you can assume there is no current in the socket and you should call a professional to repair it.
If you have any questions about your particular outlets, or if you need help with repairing broken outlets please do not hesitate to call us at Kalahari Electric.
